As the first post of the blog, it started with the name of the book authored by Plato the ancient Greek philosopher.
The Republic, also known as Republic, a dialogue that documents a discussion between Socrates and his friends, is the most significant book in my life since it completely altered how I perceive the universe, life, and worth. When I first read the book, I was only 15 years old, and all I learned from it was the debating technique called dialectic, by which Plato used to support his arguments and refute those of others. This technique has taught me a lot, most notably how to use logic to structure sentences with ideas and arguments.
I used to debate with friends, partners, and teachers online or offline for deriving the core logic from thousands of views, which I think is a better way to verify a point rather than searching on either books or internet. Soon I got tired and bored of the endless controvery and want to find something really exist. After some 3 years, I read Republic again and readlily understood the true meaning behind the long story Plato want to express. In the first section, Socrates discussed the definition of justice with Cephalus, Polemarchus, and Thrasymachus. After disproving their definition of justice, he gave the explanation that
injustice can never be more profitable than justice.
Following that, Socrates continued to explain the essential definition of justice with instances made of normal things. Experienceing a long debate, he has accepted that unjust man maybe get more benefit than others, but the central argument he dicussed is the benefit to city-state, in which a city-state of just man is better than of unjust man.
That is what exactly I want to say. the rule limited people but can’t limit those who disdain rule. In a country, neither good rule nor bad rule can save the country from decline, because the rule actually is executed by people. If there is no just man, the good rule mostly be altered to bad rule. The most vital thing in politic is making a positive development in the country, and the best way to develop a country is eduacate its people
